You can go decadent and make this parfait with rich, full-flavored ice cream or choose a lighter tasty base such as low fat frozen yogurt or use a 'Nice Cream' base of frozen bananas whirled up in your food processor!

On to the Patriotic Parfaits!
This recipe makes one 2-cup serving! Adjust as needed!
Ingredients:
2-3 large strawberries, washed and sliced
1/4 cup frozen or fresh blueberries (if fresh, wash and pat dry)
Vanilla ice cream or non-dairy frozen dessert - 1/2 - 1/3 cup
Whipped topping
Optional: Raspberries - Cenzia loves raspberries, so we always include some!
2 cup Mason jar or parfait glass of your choosing!
Directions:
Put sliced strawberries on the bottom
Top with a layer of vanilla ice cream or non-dairy frozen dessert
Add a layer of blueberries
Add a layer with more vanilla ice cream or non-dairy frozen dessert
Top with whichever berry is your fave! We did raspberries, blueberries and strawberries!
Finish with some whipped topping!
Optional: Chocolate shavings or sprinkles on top!
