Well, I was putting in some late night requests at the library site - some books we haven't yet purchased but want to reread, write about, etc., when the event I've been waiting for has happened! I can't believe I didn't know it was coming out, but in all fairness, life is pretty busy and I can't always be up on all my fave books and authors!

So, I was requesting a few books that Cenz and I were planning to blog about when I typed in Trenton Lee Stewart's name. He's the author of The Mysterious Benedict Society series which are some of my very favorite books ever! - I'm a huge fan!). Well, imagine my surprise when I saw that there is a new book coming out!!
The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Riddle of Ages by Trenton Lee Stewart is the latest installation in the series that captivated both kids and adults alike! Reynie, Sticky, Kate & Constance are back! Joined by a new member, the Society must once again band together to solve problems, outwit villains and keep out of the way of danger!
I remember specifically my first encounter with this remarkable series. My daughter and I were sitting with our usual pile of books at our local bookseller- perusing, reading a bit, trying to choose. I had a copy of The Mysterious Benedict Society in hand and wanted to take a look. I liked the title and the cover art was cool!
About a minute into my reading, I looked up to see a kid about ten years old standing in front of me looking at me. I was a little taken aback- wondering why this smallish bookstore patron was staring at me when he announced to me, "That is a really good book!" and walked away.
That alone would have been interesting...but it happened two more times! So, three kids (none of whom I knew), went out of their way to express their wholehearted enthusiasm for The Mysterious Benedict Society! Well, I was sold!
Those kids were spot on! These books are absolutely some of my favorites! Whenever my daughter asks me, "What are your favorite books?" - The Mysterious Benedict Society books are always in the mix. Clever story lines, remarkable characters, fantastic writing, twists, surprises, puzzles, bad guys, good guys--it's got it all!
So, in case you haven't figured it out yet, I'm super thrilled and cannot wait to read The Mysterious Benedict Society and the Riddle of Ages! This is the kind of excited where we hop in the car and beeline to the bookstore to get our hands on a copy! It's like an impromptu holiday-usually followed up with celebratory special treats and such!
So, if you aren't already familiar with The Mysterious Benedict Society books by Trenton Lee Stewart, now is a good time to give them a go! If you have the time, start with the first one and continue on. But, I understand if you like to go with latest release; either way, you won't be disappointed! And if you have read the others, enjoy the latest! Read on!
